Description:
This course is developed around the State of Kansas and State of Missouri concealed firearms carry instructional requirements with input from various law enforcement offices. This course covers the Personal and Family Protection Act, federal, state, and local restrictions, and the laws concerning the use of deadly force, firearm maintenance and safe storage, equipment and ammunition selection, proper loading, unloading and shooting techniques, and concludes with a written examination.
Because the class is based on teaching the laws in Kansas and Missouri surrounding the justified use of a firearm, it will be assumed that each student is already proficient with using their firearm. Therefore, during the classroom portion, very little training will be offered in the basics of firing a pistol.
KANSAS RANGE QUALIFICATION: The fired proficiency portion of this course consists of 25 rounds. The course is fired at distances of 3, 7, and 10 yards.
3 Yards- 5 rounds, unsupported
7 Yards- 10 rounds, unsupported or supported
10 Yards- 10 rounds, supported
MISSOURI RANGE QUALIFICATION: The fired proficiency portion of this course consists of 40 rounds. The student can qualify with a semi-automatic pistol OR a revolver. All rounds will be fired from a distance of 7 yards. The student must complete 20 practice rounds and an additional 20 rounds to qualify. All shooting may be completed from a two handed, standing position.
The written exam will be 25-30 multiple choice questions covering the material covered in the classroom regarding Kansas law and basic pistol safety. Missouris students are not required to complete the written exam.
All graduates of this course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Centerfire Instructors are certified to teach Concealed Carry for all residents of Kansas and Missouri residents in Jackson, Clay, Platte, and Cass Counties.

Carry Concealed 1
Mississippi Concealed Carry Permit Endorsement
Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit Class
This concealed carry endorsement class is for those that have the Firearms Permit for Mississippi and wish to add the Endorsement sticker to that permit. The class is also open to Louisiana residents who wish to attain their concealed carry permit and covers all the requirements of both states. The endorsement allows the firearm's holder to legally carry their firearm in certain other places that are not lawful with the regular firearms permit. It also covers all the classroom and range material that is required by Louisiana State Police as well as all the hands-on knowledge that our experienced instructors have earned from their years in law enforcement and as firearms instructors. This class also qualifies a student in certain other states that require the NRA Basic Pistol Course, or equivalent, to attain their original concealed handgun permit.
The course will cover the fundamentals in handling and shooting the firearm, nomenclature, ammunition, storage and carry issues, and gun laws specific to Mississippi and/or Louisiana (or other states that the student is seeking to apply for a concealed handgun permit). We understand that those seeking a concealed handgun permit take their responsibility of personal protection seriously and our full-day course structure is intended to teach you everything you need to know. We know that your time and money are limited, so we try to give you the best training day for your investment. The range drills are designed for the person who is carrying the firearm for personal defense. All drills will be conducted with a strong side holster which is able to be concealed with an over-shirt. The student must pass a written and practical exam to be eligible for the certificate of completion.
Once successfully completed, the student will be able to present this certificate to the Department of Public Safety of their respective state for a Concealed Handgun Permit or for their Mississippi Endorsement.
**If the dates listed for our Handgun Safety Class and other classes do not meet your schedule, we will try to accommodate you in any way we can. We understand it may be difficult to juggle your schedule to match ours, so call and we will try to meet yours. We continually update classes based on demand.
During the summer months we will conduct training based on requests for private classes. Please call if you are interested in a private class.
Upon signing up with the class, please indicate the state for which you are seeking the carry permit.

Description:
About the MS Enhanced Carry Permit
During the 1990 session, the Mississippi Legislature passed legislation authorizing the Department of Public Safety to issue statewide firearm permits to individuals who make application and pay a fee. In the years to follow, the State of MS passed legislation allowing individuals to receive an Enhanced Carry Endorsement on their standard concealed carry permit. The enhanced carry endorsement removes most of the restrictions that a standard concealed carry firearms permit has. Having the restrictions removed allows the enhanced carry permit holder to carry a concealed pistol, revolver, or stun gun just about anywhere in the state.
Unfortunately, there are no clear standards of training regulated by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. Brothers N Arms, LLC and Close Quarter Combat, LLC, recognized that problem immediately and responded by developing a standard of training that is second to none. Our mission is to provide superior quality firearms training, instruction, and education to law abiding citizens. When you take an Enhanced Carry Class with us at our range in Hattiesburg, MS, you can rest assured that you will get the education and training that you need to feel confident when carrying a concealed pistol, revolver or stun gun.
Enhanced Carry Permit Class – Classroom Time
The enhanced carry class is an 8+ hour course. We can break the course up into two days, but our most common way is to conduct the course in one day. The enhanced carry classes consist of a classroom portion and a practical portion. Both parts of the enhanced carry class are conducted on our premier shooting range conveniently located on Hwy 49 in Hattiesburg, MS. Topics covered in class include safe handling of pistols and revolvers, shooting fundamentals and marksmanship, defensive shooting concepts, Mississippi laws specific to guns and use of defensive force, and more.
All of our classes are organized and/or taught by our lead firearms instructor, Joseph Green. Joseph also coordinates with other NRA and MS Department of Public Safety certified instructors to ensure that students get the best training possible. Joseph teaches enthusiastically and uses up to date teaching methods and technology to keep you engaged and attentive. Be sure to ask for Joseph Green by name if you want to get the training that the reviews are written about.
Once you have successfully completed the enhanced carry class, you will have satisfied the requirements established by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, and will be eligible for your enhanced carry endorsement. You will receive an official Mississippi Department of Public Safety approved certificate that you will then take to the nearest Mississippi Department of Public Safety substation that handles firearms permits. You do not need a Mississippi Firearms Permit prior to class.
Enhanced Carry Permit Class – Range Time
The range portion of our enhanced carry class consists of a thorough review of safe gun handling procedures, shooting fundamentals, and other pertinent information covered in the classroom portion of the course.
The live fire drills will be performed from various yardage. The drills performed are designed in a way to ensure that you use proper pistol shooting fundamentals and to demonstrate proficiency with your handgun. You will then shoot a qualification course of fire that will be scored on a point system. The majority of your shots will be from the standing two hand position, but you will also fire from the one-handed position using both the support and strong hand.
