Where is my CCW Permit Valid?

Do I need to bring my own gun to the CCW Classes?

You may certainly bring your own or you may choose from Black Wing's firearms. Most people will choose a .380ACP, 9MM or 45ACP.
Will we get a lunch break?

Yes. Our CCW course is 8 1/2 hrs long to allow you have a 30 minute meal break. Please remember to bring your lunch with you and any snacks or beverages to sustain you through the day. We are a 10 minute drive away from a few fast food locations, however that will not provide much time to actually enjoy your meal break. Class will begin promptly after your 30 minute break.

This class fulfills all requirements to obtain your Ohio CHL license. As mandated by Ohio law, students successfully passing the class, will be able to demonstrate the following:

Proficiently name, verbalize and demonstrate the rules for safe handling of a handgun & proper storage practices of both handguns & ammunition.
Demonstrate and explain how to handle ammunition in a safe manner

Course Description: The State of Illinois requires all Concealed Carry Firearm License (CCFL) applicants to complete 16-hours of training prior to applying for a CCFL. This 8-hour course meets all the firearm safety training requirements of the Illinois Concealed Firearms Act sections 75(b) and 75(c). All applicants must obtain 8-hours of prior firearms training before attending this course and provide proof (photo copies) of this training to the instructor on the course convening date. If you’ve been thinking about getting your concealed weapon permit, this is the place to start. We’ll explain the application process step by step and begin your CCW training. You’ll learn firearm safety, tactics, and techniques. We’ll review the laws regarding the use of lethal force, as well as other related laws and sheriff’s department policies. This course includes live fire of your handgun.

There’s no need to pre-register for this class. Just show up Tuesday 15 to 20 minutes before the start time to check in. Check in 30 minutes prior for Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday classes, bring all firearms you’re planning to include on your CCW, as well as ammo to shoot 50 rounds. Firearms may be left at home for the Tuesday classroom portion of the two-day course. Ammo may also be purchased from The Range.
