This course introduces women to shooting handguns and is designed specifically for women that have little or no practical shooting experience.
The curriculum includes classroom instruction in the rules of firearm safety, safe gun handling, fundamentals of shooting, and a live fire practical session. The live fire will also include the ability to fire 8 different handguns that are ideal for ladies concealed carry. These include; Glock 19 9mm, Sig Sauer P238 .380acp, Springfield XD Mod2 9mm, S&W M&P 2.0 9mm, S&W Shield 9mm, Taurus 85 Revolver 38Spcl.
The cost of this class is $100 with guns and ammo included. At the end of the class if you aren't completely satisfied with the quality of instruction we will refund your money. That is our guarantee.

Self-Defense Firearm Basics - In this module students are familiarized with the universal safety rules of handling firearms. Participants are introduced to the various types of pistol actions, including revolvers, semi-automatics, and strike-fired handguns, and the pros and cons of handgun choices. Other topics in this module include ammunition components, care and storage, common ammunition and firearm malfunctions and the methods used to clear them. Participants will be introduced to other use of force options as well.
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals - This module covers the differences between defensive shooting and marksmanship, how to properly grip the firearm, the shooting platform, aligning the muzzle to the target, point shooting, flash sight picture, sighted fire, and trigger control. Participants will utilize the SIRT training pistol in the classroom before progressing to the range for live fire exercises.
Gear and Gadgets - Students will be introduced to the various gear and accessories available to firearms owners. Equipment covered includes holsters, belts, tactical lights, laser sights and storage solutions.
Basic and Advanced Skills - This module assists in answering the question “what’s next?”. Participants will be exposed to various drills to enhance their new skills.

3. You may rent our handgun and ammunition for an additional cost. (approximately $30 for gun rental and ammunition)
4. Bring your UNLOADED handgun/handguns in a bag or case. Only standard handgun calibers can be shot on our range. (50 rounds) Ammunition must be commercially produced with brass or nickle casing only.

Introduction to Precision Rifle Shooting is a one day course that covers the basics of precision rifle shooting. From the rifle, scope, and ancillary equipment selection to the introduction of ballistics and the effects of the environment on a bullet (External Ballistics) every rifle shooter will broaden their knowledge base in this course. After the classroom portion, shooters then zero their rifles to 1 Minute of Angle (MOA) at 100 yards. Shooters will then confirm their calculated 300 yard zero, adjust their scope, and shooting at a 1 MOA target (3″).

The Long Range Precision Rifle I (LRPR-I) is a three day basic/beginner precision rifle course designed for the novice rifle shooter, but those with little or no formal rifle training are encouraged and recommended to attend. This course builds the foundation of Precision Marksmanship Fundamentals using supported shooting positions.
LRPR-I will build the shooters Long Range skills by developing good habits when shooting from conventional positions. Students can expect to shoot 100-200 rounds to 1000 yards and beyond, dependent on the shooters rifle and cartridge. Beginners, novice, or experienced shooters will all benefit from this course.
Each student will have their rifle chronographed during the course to aid in the Ballistic Application portion of the course.

THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER’S PISTOL COURSE!
Students should have some knowledge of how to fire a handgun and operate it safely but do not need to have “advanced” level firearms training. The SAH-I uses real life scenarios and drills to instill the fundamentals of marksmanship, gun-handling, safety, ammunition selection, equipment selection, loading, unloading, immediate action/malfunction drills, equipment placement and firing techniques taught both in the classroom and on the range.

Hanson Rod and Gun Club offers firearms safety training and marksmanship courses as well as the opportunity for continued practice and competition. The CMP was created by the U.S. Congress. The original purpose was to provide civilians an opportunity to learn and practice marksmanship skills so they would be skilled marksmen if later called on to serve the U.S. military.
