The Basic Handgun Class includes how to safely handle a handgun with an emphasis on safety, loading and unloading revolvers and semi-automatic pistols and actual range time closely supervised by the instructor.

Our Home Safety & Firearms Training Class is designed for parents who would like to ensure their children are prepared to safeguard themselves during the parents absence. Parents and children will learn valuable tips on how to properly secure their home and the importance of establishing "code" words. Students will receive instructions on what to do during a home invasion in the absence of the parents. This course is also designed to give parents instructional information that will prevent their children from becoming a liability during a home invasion. Students will be taught safe practices when handling a handgun, as well as shooting fundamentals to include dominant eye recognition, proper stance, grip, sight alignment, finger placement/trigger control, breathing and trigger follow through. Acquiring these basic skill set is critical to developing sufficient proficiency with a handgun to safely and effectively employ it in a defensive shooting situation. Children must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

We have an entire range dedicated to AR15 style training exercises, with barrels and vehicles to shoot in and around. With our numerous 3D, paper, steel and moving targets you'll be continually challenged to perform accurate shot placement.
This class is designed to learn to shoot your AR15 or equivalent rifle.

Class will cover the use of optics, distance estimation, sight alignment, rifle presentation, trigger control, recoil control, multiple target scenarios, reloading, jam clearing and more.

This course is designed for people with little or no handgun experience. Students focus on pistol shooting fundamentals including proper grip, sight alignment/sight picture, and trigger control. Mastering these basic skill requirements is critical to developing sufficient proficiency with a handgun to safely and effectively employ it in a defensive shooting situation. Unless a waver is granted, this course is a prerequisite for the Intermediate Handgun Skills I Course.

A holster is not required for the Basic Handgun Skills Course, but the student should bring one to class, if they have a holster for the handgun they will be using.

Description:

The 3 hour Intermediate I Handgun Skills Course covers drawing and engaging from a holster and engaging one or more targets and malfunction drills.

A "good" holster and gun belt are required for this course, even if you are going to carry a handgun in a purse or fanny pack. Do not buy a holster that closes when you draw your handgun, thus requiring you to open the holster with your weak hand before reholstering. There are many good holster manufacturers, including Comp-Tac a local company with great customer service and excellent delivery times. Students carrying a handgun in a purse or fanny pack will spend some time covering issues related to this method of carrying a defensive handgun, but the shooting portion of the class will involve only the use of a holster.

Description:

This course introduces the use of barricades and other cover, shooting moving targets, shooting from unusual positions and advanced malfunction/incapacitation drills. Students will hone the skills they learned in the first three courses by employing them in realistic scenarios. Standing still and shooting at stationary targets is useful for training, but only to a point. There comes a point when every person carrying a defensive handgun must practice under more realistic conditions

Description:

Defensive Rifle 1 focuses on the utilizing the AR-15 platform in a strictly self / home defense scenario. Students will need to be in moderate physical condition. There will be no running, but you need to be able to assume both prone and kneeling positions as well as getting back up to standing without assistance. There will be breaks but expect most of your time to be spent on the range and not in a classroom. We will be breaking for a mid day meal.

The course will cover:

defensive mind set;
weapon zero and bullet drop;
ballistics;
appropriate use of cover;
malfunction clearance drills;
single and multiple threat situations;
useful weapon accessories.

This class focuses on perfect repetition of perfect handgun technique.

Those who have seen the light understand that there is no such thing as an “advanced” technique, or an “advanced” gunfight. Simply put, the mastery of core principles, or the lack thereof, is the only thing which differentiates the professional from the amateur, the victor from the victim.

In this class, you will push yourself to mental exhaustion, run your equipment to the point of failure, develop confidence in your gun-handling abilities and metal toughness, grow in discipline and moral character, and become faster, stronger, more alert, and more accurate than you previously thought possible.

This course is designed for the person new to handgun ownership, new to handgun shooting, or wanting to pass the Texas License to Carry Handgun Demonstration of Proficiency Demonstration. You can use your own handgun or one of ours. If you are deciding on a handgun purchase this is an ideal class for you to use one of our handguns and try before you buy.

Description:

MRRA Defensive Handgun Basic is the ideal course for you to advance personally in the sport of practical shooting. Building on the solid foundation of marksmanship taught by MRRA Intro to Handgun, we teach you the necessary skills mindset and attitude to utilize a handgun for competitive or defensive purposes. You learn theory in the classroom and apply it on the range, drawing from the holster, clearing malfunctions, engaging multiple targets, scanning for threats and reloading your pistol quickly and efficiently. Everyone who takes this course will leave with practical, defensive shooting skills and drills to refine their capabilities in preparation for Defensive Handgun Intermediate.

This course gives ladies a non intimidating atmosphere to learn about the carbine platform. During this course we will cover the fundamentals of AR safety and components, and how to maintain and clean your AR.
Included in the course is basic instruction during live fire portion of course inside of our firearm bay.

Description:

This course is intended for the individual with little or no firearms experience at all. There is not a great deal of range shooting time in this class. This is the perfect class for a new shooter or someone interested in preparing for the marksmanship portion of the Texas License To Carry Handgun class.
