Many defensive minded individuals carry firearms to protect themselves and families, but how many carry a flashlight, and how many of them have been trained in flashlight techniques. This class attacks that head on, giving the shooter an understanding of how the human eye works in various light conditions, types of flashlights, deployment of lights, Use of cover/concealment with flashlights and many more advanced skills. When you control the light, you control the environment.

Students are required to successfully complete "Mastering the Fundamentals of Shooting" along with "Defensive Pistol I & II" prior to taking this class or can provide proof of equivalent training somewhere else.

The United States Concealed Carry Association's Home Defense Course introduces students to statistics and trends of crime and home invasions in the U.S. Students will learn about developing a home protection plan, evaluating your home's security, alarm systems and the legal aspect of defending what's yours. The instructor will also discuss understanding firearms, magazines, calibers of different guns as well as which type of defense is best for you and your family. Students completing this class will be issued a USCCA certificate of completion for this 4 hour class. The cost of the class is $99 per person. Students should bring a firearm for the practical part of the course.

The New Defensive Pistol I introduces you to the fundamentals of pistol shooting. Whether you are learning, refreshing, practicing for competitions or to defend; this course stresses the importance of the foundation of utilizing your weapon from the holster and shooting effectively. All drills and instruction are from your holster. We work from the strong side holster so you learn how to employ each step accurately and safely. You’ll become more confident carrying and knowing your weapon. Must demonstrate safe skills to continue to Defensive Pistol II.

Must have:

Mid or Full Size Pistol or Full Size Revolver
Strong Side Holster (Holster on your hip from the hand you shoot with)
Sturdy Belt (To keep your holster in place)

The Armed Security Officer class is for someone wanting to become an Armed Security Officer in the State of Tennessee. This is a two day (16 hour) class consisting of classroom and marksmanship training.

This course teaches students how to load, unload, and fire a semi-automatic handgun in a safe and ergonomic manner. Student are not required to own their own handgun. The Nashville Armory will furnish the semi-automatic, at no charge; or the student may bring their own semi-automatic handgun.

The student will fire 50 rounds during the course. (Course fee does not cover ammunition cost)

This course is an alternative to private instruction and this course will help to insure the student can be successful when taking a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Class.
