Texas is one of several states that offer citizens the ability to carry a concealed or open weapon. At Target Time you will be able to receive all the necessary training, qualification and documentation to submit a completed application to Texas Department of Public Safety. For new licenses this 4-6 hour comprehensive course is designed for the average shooter with basic firearm knowledge and includes live fire range time for basic target qualification. If you are a novice, never shot a handgun before, have little experience, or feel you are rusty we highly encourage you to take our BASIC HANDGUN CLASS. As of Sept 1, 2013 Renewal classes are available online & are no longer required to take a class.
Class includes:
We provide 4-6 hours of classroom instruction, onsite written and shooting proficiency test, a Semi automatic 9mm handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition, eye & ear protection, & 1 B27 target. We do offer rental guns ($15.00 rental fee + cost of ammo) if you prefer a different option. While we highly encourage you to utilize our firearm you are allowed to bring your own. It must be a .32 or higher caliber + 50 rounds of FMJ, Range, or Brass cased ammo (no reloads or steel core ammo) that is unloaded & cased prior to entering the store. DPS now only accepts electronic fingerprints through L1 Identity Solutions. Instructions & requirements for fingerprints will be addressed within the

RANGE ENTRANCE STOPS ONE HOUR BEFORE CLOSING TIME SO YOU CAN RECEIVE YOUR FULL HOUR. WE CLOSE PROMPTLY AT CLOSING TIME. CURRENT HOURS ARE TUES-FRI 10:00AM-7:00PM AND SAT/SUN 8:00AM-7:00PM SO LAST ON RANGE IS 6:00PM. CLOSED MONDAY.
