South Carolina Gun School teaches a SLED approved curriculum to obtain a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit. You must be 21 years of age and a resident of South Carolina to take this class. You must complete both the written and shooting test with passing scores to be considered for your permit. SLED may take past 90 days to mail your permit to you. This class will cover and answer questions you may have about gun construction, gun handling skills, and questions about the laws. We do fingerprints in the class. All our classes have a NRA Range Safety Officer to assure the safety of our students. We make ourselves available after the class to answer your questions that may come up once you have taken the class.

Ammunition construction, identification and ballistics

The Rifle Tactics 201 is a great class to help you want to become proficient with your carbine rifle we can help. Most shooting exercises are conducted within 50 yards of the target with the emphasis on close quarter engagements. As the day progresses you will become more confident with your ability to transition from your carbine to your pistol. You will learn how to keep your gun in the fight and stay alive.
Topics of instruction will include:

Malfunction and immediate action drills

The Vehicle Tactics 201 is a great class to help you become more confident and proficient with using your handgun in and around a vehicle. This means you will understand how to work from inside to outside the vehicle to ensure you understand proper movements while handling reloads and malfunctions.
As the day progresses you will start with engaging one threat to multiple threats along with learning where the best places are on the vehicle for proper cover.
Topics of instruction will include:
Shooting from inside the vehicle
Shooting from inside the vehicle at different positions
Working with passengers in the vehicle
Working from inside to outside the vehicle

The Pistol Tactics 101 is a 4 hour course that is fun and slow paced. It is designed for beginners that feel they have enough range time to not need the Intro to Firearms, but still don’t feel comfortable enough for the Pistol Tactics 201. This class will help you sharpen your skills and knowledge to get you ready for the Pistol 201 as well as become more proficient with your handgun.

We will spend the first half of the day working our “secondary firearm” aka the pistol. We will refine our 4 step draw process, shoot on the move and more. After lunch (you will have an hour break), we will incorporate our “primary firearm”, aka the AR-15 platforms to refine our “hunting” positions, work our aggressive implementation and then put all of our systems together as we move and solve complex drills!
