Description:

Concealed Carry Training Courses are taught at the range in Warren County. It is taught on weekends and is a one day class from 8 a.m.–5 p.m., plus range qualification. Weekday classes are available by request and has a minimum of 5 for attendance.

You must be able to safely load, unload, and shoot on your own. If not, we offer a Basic Pistol Course that will prepare you for the Conceal Carry Handgun Course.

Our Concealed Carry Course meets the standards as set forth by the North Carolina Administrative Code.
Handgun Rental: $30

Rental is for a .22 caliber pistol and 40 rounds of ammunition. Hearing and eye protection not provided.

2 day course;
Taught by formerly trained US Army/FBI/SRT Sniper Team Chief Paul Smith and Competitive Long Range Precision Rifle Shooter Dale Campo. Our Introduction to Long Range Rifle course will prepare you for ringing steel out to 1,000 yards, going on a hunting trip of a lifetime or getting involved in competitive long range rifle matches.

This two-day introductory course in long range shooting will focus on the fundamentals of long range marksmanship. The course goals include identifying and
applying the skills required for long range shooting and an overview of the necessary equipment. Note, high dollar firearms and the newest optics are not necessary. A rental firearm will be available for an additional fee if you do not own a long range rifle.

Rental is for rifle with scope and ammunition. We use 175gr Black Hills ammunition that works best for our rental rifles. Brass belongs to the range if you are renting.


Must have:

Hearing and eye protection
Pencil/pen and notepad
Data entry book (available for purchase from Frontline Defense)

Rifle*:
.300, .308, 6.5, etc. [NO .223/5.56 (unless it’s at least a 20″ barrel) NO .50 cal, or .338 Lapua]
Rifle must be able to shoot groups at least 1 MOA at 100 yards
Rifle should be bull barrel, not a sporter hunting barrel
AR10 style rifles are allowed
YOUR RIFLE NEEDS TO BE ZEROED AT 100YDS AHEAD OF TIME. We will confirm it at class
Rental rifles are already zeroed. We will confirm all rifle zeros at the range
Scope:
Mil-Dot reticle or MOA reticle with external adjustable knobs for elevation and windage.
Scope must be capable of MOA adjustments to 800 yards (example: 40 MOA for 1,000 yards on a .308 and 12 Mils for 1,000yds on a .308); a 20 MOA riser may be necessary
You will have an opportunity to view a variety of scope makes and models during the course;
Bipod [recommend 6″-9″, 9″-12″ is too tall] and rear support bag. GA Precision or Tab Gear Style. Not a bench rest rear bag. We have some if you don’t.
Cleaning kit, oil with patches and rags;
Tools for your optics and rifle, in case adjustments are needed;
Owner Manual for your scope;
Pants [NO shorts];
Comfortable footwear for rough terrain;
Rain gear;
Hat;
Backpack for gear, water [provided] and food [you must provide your own lunch/snacks. Refrigerator and Microwave available.];
120 rounds of quality long-range ammunition: For the .308, 175gr is preferred over the 168gr. Ammo should be BTHP or match grade [NO Core-Lokt hunting ammo; know your bullet drop and velocity. Having data cards, phone app or Kestrel is recommended;

Description:

The mid-range rifle course is designed to improve accuracy from 25 to 500 yards.

Instruction covers basic ballistics, range estimation, and positional shooting (sitting, kneeling, offhand prone, and barricade positions). Students will be evaluated based on accuracy and consistency.

Any caliber rifle may be used, though the course is geared toward lower-powered optics or open-sight rifles. For 25 to 500 yards the normal set up is 1x-4x to 3x-9x magnified optics (such as the AR-15 platform or your hunting rifle).

Upon completing the course, the student will demonstrate:

proper set up of their rifle and scope
rifle zeroing
range estimation
hold over
ethical shooting scenarios (in hunting)
effective engagement of mid-range targets of know and unknown distances


Must have:

100 rounds of ammunition;
No XM193, XM855, armor piercing, tracer, or incendiary rounds. We use steel targets.
Sling;
Hat;
Hearing and eye protection;
Notepad and pen/pencil;
Clothing for outdoor shooting: long pants, wet weather gear;
Bipod (optional but recommended);
Optics (optional but recommended);

Description:

You have some knowledge of your firearm, but are looking to take it to the next level. You want to be an asset and not a liability? Walk away with the confidence of knowing how to use your firing system with confidence. Your rifle needs to have a 50 yard zero ahead of time. This is not an AK-47 Course. AR15/M4 only.
