Description:

Success in a tactical environment depends on more than just the tools and techniques learned on the range. Advance planning, thought, and a diverse knowledge base are often the critical success factors. This course covers a wide variety of topics to better prepare you for different tactical situations you might encounter.

Note: This course is taught entirely in the classroom. There are no range-based activities. It is strongly recommended that you bring note-taking materials with you.
How would you respond to an Active Shooter in the building where you work? What if you were in a tactical encounter but did not have your gun? What if you and your family were separated during a terrorist attack? This course will introduce these and many other tactical topics where greater knowledge and planning could be the keys to your survival.

Topics in the 1-Day Tactical Awareness course include:

Options in an Active Shooter situation

Tactics while driving a vehicle, including awareness, positioning, and using the vehicle as a weapon

Having a family plan for responding to emergencies (intruder, terrorist attack, natural disaster, etc.)

Improvised weapons

How to make your home more secure

Everyday carry and preparedness (what you should have with you at all times)

Practical situational awareness


16 to 17 years old, welcome to take regular firearms courses alone as long as a parent or guardian is onsite; parent or guardian can be enrolled in a different course or on a different range.
Minimum age is 11 if taking the course with a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian MUST be the one working with the child during the entire course, and be responsible for only ONE child.
Children age 10 and under are not allowed.
Unattended minors are NOT allowed on the property. They must be escorted by a parent or guardian at all times or be enrolled in an appropriate course.
