Concealed Carry Interactive Scenarios is a simple 2 hour or more session where Concealed Handgun Permit holders can test the following in three or more interactive scenarios:

Concealed handgun skills
Tactics
Decision-making skills

Participants will be equipped with a UTM training handgun and protective equipment so they can face role players in realistic situations. You will also act as role players in the various scenarios, which in itself is a valuable learning experience. Each of the scenarios will be critiqued by an instructor so everyone can learn from the decisions they did or did not make.
CONCEALED CARRY INTERACTIVE SCENARIOS

While this is not a training course, it’s a great way to learn the value of scenario-based training versus simple range training. Even though this is not an instructional course, participants will learn some valuable lessons about the reality of armed confrontations that may help them identify areas they may need to improve on.

At the end of the session, the instructor will make recommendations for training courses based on the participants’ skill levels.

Handgun Skill Builder classes make use of dry-fire practice and live-fire practice in short sessions to target skills such as reloading, use of cover, fundamentals, movement, etc. These 1-hour practice sessions are led by an instructor who will teach at the pace and skill level of the individual students. The exact material will vary and will be highly flexible – some of the exact skills may be posted prior to the course. Handgun Skill Builder classes will end with a live-fire session on the range.

Students should be comfortable with their handgun and must have completed the Intro to Handgunclass, CCW class, or have similar experience and confidence to shoot safely around others. Higher level students will also be challenged as they get back to the basics with increased demands.

Eye and ear protection
Pistol or revolver in proper working order (to be unloaded and stored in case prior to arrival)
A quality holster that secures to your body and covers the trigger
50-100 rounds of quality ammunition
3 magazines or 2 speed loaders/strips for revolvers
Magazine holders
Range bag or similar carrying case
A loose-fitting cover garment for drawing from concealment.

*Please dress appropriately for the range: no open toe shoes, tank tops, v-neck shirts, etc.

The Basic Handgun Defense Level 1 course is designed for people who have some beginner level experience with a handgun but want to start on the right path for defensive preparedness. The goal of the class is to get students shooting safely, consistently and with focus on good self-defense habits. All shooting drils in this course are shot from the ready position. For those that have no experience at all with handguns, we recommend Intro to Handgun.

Learning Objectives:

One and two hand point shooting
Basics of sighted fire
Reloads and malfunction clearance
A slight amount of entry level movement while shooting
The course includes one hour or more of classroom and dry practice.

Students will learn about different types of pistols and ammunition, weapon maintenance, misfires, the fundamentals of marksmanship, and more.

Women’s Primal Defense is a 4-hour course taught by instructors with experience in real-world defense. Students learn situational awareness and practice conflict de-escalation. This course primarily addresses how to deal with verbal confrontations, but students also learn some basic moves to defend themselves against a physical attack. By course completion, participants will have repeatedly used their newfound skills to assess danger, set boundaries, and respond effectively to verbal and physical aggression. Students get the chance to use full-force techniques against a staff instructor donning specially designed protective gear.

All 88 Tactical training courses are built on the core concept of Reality Behavior-Based Conditioning© (RBBC). RBBC was developed from this maxim: “the study of behavior is as important as the study of tactics.” 88 Tactical courses condition an appropriate crisis response that maximizes performance while working with, instead of against, a person’s survival-oriented instincts and intuitions. The quicker you recognize the threat, the more likely you will prevail.
COURSE OBJECTIVES

Describe and demonstrate levels of awareness and condition readiness
Demonstrate how to set boundaries, and control and maintain the “reactionary gap”
Demonstrate defensive strikes against an unarmed assailant
