Learn the essential components of defensive shooting in Target Sports Minnesota's newest class, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1. Designed for the student who has minimal defensive shooting training experience, this high-quality class was developed by the United States Conceal and Carry Associaiton (USCCA) to train your body and mind how to react to a threat with hands-on live-fire training. This class includes an interactive, on-line learning component students complete prior to the live-fire excercises which are then held on the range. Both the e-learning and live-fire exercises focus on multiple skills that will enhance your ability to deal with a life-threatening attack.

Must have:

Reliable EDC (every day carry) concealable handgun (semi-automatic recommended)
Quality on body, strong side, holster, (NONE OF THESE TYPES HOLSTERS: ankle, bra, purse, cross draw, pocket, shoulder)
Three magazines
Magazine pouch or pockets to store magazines
At least 300 rounds of target ammunition (Target Sports Minnesota sells ammo if needed)
Hearing protection
Eye protection
Pen and Paper for taking notes
Range appropriate clothing
light snacks will be provided

Grip and trigger control
Stance and movement
Balance of speed and precision
Presentation from ready and holster position
shooting from retention and reloading
diagnosing your misses
defensive shooting drills

Registration Process:

Step 1
Register for the live-fire section of the class through Target Sports MN on this page. Cost is $149 per person

Step 2
Complete the online e-learning course through USCCA prior the the live-fire section. Contact USCCA Instructor Support support@usscainstructors or 1-877-577-4800 to purchase student packet which includes the Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 Book and e-learning. There will be a $30 fee paid directly to USCCA for the students packet and e-learning. The e-learning component must be completed prior to taking the live-fire section.

Important Notes:

Students must have a valid Minnesota Permit to Carry or a Permit to Carry from a State that Minnesota recognizes.

Course size is limited to the first eight students and registration closes 10 days before the date of the course. Signups after the 10-day window will incur an additioanl $15 paid to the USCCA. Don't delay, sign up today!
