The annual Florida Open Pistol Shooting Tournament is held every February in Frostproof, Florida and hosted by the Universal Shooting Academy. Champion shooter, Frank Garcia, is the Match Director, as well as the host of the competition. 400+ shooters will compete in the “23rd” annual Florida Open in 2021. February 18-21, 2021.

Description:
USADPL is my incarnation of what a defensive pistol match should be. It is a great place to test your REAL carry gear in more realistic scenarios. It is also be a place for IDPA practice and general practice as well. It is geared to the newer shooter interested in using their gun and gear in a more dynamic environment. Stages are relatively simple and it is also a good avenue for anyone interested in getting started in competition shooting.
Round count is around 50 rounds. We want to keep it that way for those that want to shoot .380 or .45, or some of the more expensive, maybe harder to find calibers.

Currently held on the 4th Saturday of each month. Sign up starts at 8:45 and the match walkthrough will be at 9:30
If you have never shot a competitive match (USPSA, IDPA or similar) we ask you to arrive for an orientation briefing and demonstration by 9:00.

The Florida State USPSA Championship is back again at Universal Shooting Academy. Normally the first major championship of the year due to our awesome winter weather. Come on down and compete against the best Florida has to offer.
