Evan’s Gun World Concealed Carry Course is designed to meet the Orange County Sheriff's Department requirement of certified instruction in order for a law-abiding citizen to apply for an OCSD Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) License. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training. Evan’s offers quality training for beginner shooters. The range masters at Evan’s come from many backgrounds including, United States Marine Corps, US Army, private security, and NRA.
Range instructors slightly vary in their instruction but the mission is the same. All beginners will learn the core National Rifle Association safety rules, and their applications. Beginners will be escorted through the process from beginning to end with close supervision. Quality instruction builds confident shooters that will go on to many different shooting sports.
The beginner course fee is $70 and held every Monday Night at 6:30pm. A typical beginner course will provide the following:
Rental gun (Glock 17 or equivalent)
50 rounds of 9mm ammunition
2 paper targets or more if needed for accuracy
Lane Rental
Eye and Ear protection
Distances: 25 Yards
Ranges: 1
Number of lanes: 10
Guns for rent: 20

Evans Gun World boasts a high-tech range, featuring the “SuperTrap” system, enabling the usage of hollow-points, hot loads, and more calibers (shooters must demonstrate proficiency and gain approval on some calibers). Evans Gun World has two separate shooting areas, one of which is a Tactical range primarily used for law enforcement and training but is available for rent to private parties.
Our state of the art ventilation system keeps a clean environment, and the dust and residues headed down range. Placement of targets (ranging from silhouette to rings and more) can be placed from 7 feet to 50 feet away, and our Tactical range allows for up to 25 yards.
We also have rental guns available in many favorite styles and calibers.
Calibers accepted: Handgun Calibers during Regular hours, and then rifle night and shotgun night, up to 50 BMG on Wednesday nights.

Range Memberships are 13 months and can be purchased for $250. Inclusions: Unlimited lane use, shoot as long as you need to Priority preference over the general public if there is a wait list. Rifle use on the tactical side, when open. Family add on (parents, spouse or children) are $50 Unlimited Gun Rentals $50. If you shoot more than twice per month it pays for itself.
