Description:
The Intermediate Pistol Skills Course is a training course designed for the individual who wishes to carry a firearm for personal defense purposes. The course will consist of classroom instruction, and a practical live fire session on our indoor range. The focus of this course is taking the individual beyond basic skills and to the next level of personal defense marksmanship and concealed carry skills. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course. Instructional topics include:
* Review of the Four Lifestyle rules of firearms safety
* Review of Basic Marksmanship Principles
* The Four Count draw presentation from concealment
* Overview of state laws, use of force best practices, concealed carry tactics and mindset
* Range live fire drills
Must have:
Course attendees will come to class with the following: a centerfire revolver or centerfire semi auto pistol (recommended calibers: .38 special, .380, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP; no big bore calibers such as .410, 454, 44 mag, 50 AE, etc.); 100 rounds of range ammunition (Note: No steel cased/steel core ammo is allowed on the range); a waist belt kydex or leather rigid holster that does not collapse, for strong side or appendix carry of handgun, with sturdy leather or nylon belt that will hold the gun and holster securely; a concealment garment such as a shirt or jacket; one or more additional magazines for semi auto pistol; hearing and eye protection (electronic ear muffs are recommended); ball cap with a bill; appropriate clothing and footwear for the range; water/drinks and snacks; picture ID. Note on holsters: Blackhawk SERPA push button retention holsters are not permitted for this course.
