Enhanced Concealed Handgun Carry License (ECHCL)

The Enhanced Concealed Handgun Carry License (ECHCL) enables current ARKANSAS CHCL licensees to carry in locations prohibited with basic a CHCL license. Once an applicant or licensee has completed this enhanced training course and passed the live-fire qualification requirement, he or she will receive an Enhanced Concealed Handgun Carry License (E-CHCL). Possession of a valid E-CHCL enables you to possess and carry a concealed handgun in the certain locations that are otherwise prohibited, even with the basic CHCL.


E-CHCL enables the holder to possess and carry a concealed handgun in the following locations:

Publicly owned buildings and facilities
State Capitol grounds and the State Capitol Building
Any meeting place of the governing body of any governmental entity
Any meeting place of the General Assembly or a committee of the General Assembly
Any state office
Athletic events (specifically excluding collegiate athletic events)
A portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises
A portion of an establishment where beer or light wine is consumed on the premises
Inside the passenger terminal of an airport
Any church or other place of worship
Any place where a parade or demonstration requiring a permit is being held, even when the licensee is a participant in the parade or demonstration.
The buildings and grounds of a public university, college, or community college.

Must have:

At a minimum you will need:

Firearm. Semiautomatic 22LR and up is recommended, however a revolver can be used.
50 rds of ammunition for the firearm you will be using. (NOTE: we do NOT loan a firearm for the Enhanced like we do for the Basic).
Photo ID (DL, Mil ID, etc) AND Current AR Carry Permit. If you have not been issued your carry permit yet but have taken the Basic Class, that is acceptable. But you MUST have a Basic License OR have taken the class within the 6 months prior to Enhance class date.
Eye and Hearing Protection. We will provide hearing protection at no cost if you do not have your own. Foam plugs are accepted, however, you will be shooting in essentially a giant steel box. Many shooters double up with plugs AND muffs. Eye protection is available for sale at nominal cost if you do not have safety glasses.
Food and drink is allowed in the classroom. We will not take a formal meal break but we will take several stretch breaks, but not enough time to go offsite for food. Bring your own if you wish to eat during the class duration. If you have blood sugar issues, please plan accordingly.
